I contacted Tedquarters in Jackson, Miss.--which is in charge of all things Nuge, such as the hunting magazine (Ted Nugent Adventure Outdoors), hunting TV show (Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild Television), hunting crossbow (NugeBow), hunting children's camp (Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids) and tour dates (none scheduled). Linda at Tedquarters was interested in my project but told me that Nuge couldn't talk until the next day because he was flying back from South Africa, where he had been killing things...

After the gun club had had enough of target shooting—that is, if anyone can ever truly have enough shooting—we headed back to the range gift shop to browse for last minute souvenirs. A gun, perhaps, or maybe a crossbow, or even an industrial bottle of Mace the size of a fire extinguisher. We then headed out to lunch to reflect on our day as a group. Lucky thing for Richard Hatch that Survivor didn't cast Japanese teens. In Battle Royale, a film released in December, youthful miscreants are dropped on a deserted island. Each is given a different weapon--assault rifle, machete, crossbow--and ordered to kill until only one is left standing. Bloodshed--lots of it--ensues.
