...Crumm and Osnes do in their Broadway debuts? Not bad at all. As Danny and Sandy, the teen summer-lovebirds each vying for acceptance by the cool crowd at Rydell High, they lack a certain amount of big-stage charisma. Crumm has the winsome, quizzical look of a class clown who gets the girl only by accident, not the heartthrob played by John Travolta in the 1978 film. And Osnes's lovely, sculptured singing voice does struggle at times to get heard over the small but well-miked house band. But they perform all the dance moves required...

...time that Libertarian congressman Ron Paul told a cheering crowd at the Iowa Republican straw poll that the 9/11 terrorist attacks might have been prevented if the passengers on the planes had been packing heat, I was beginning to wonder if the event-a goofy affair under the best of circumstances-had gone fatally exotic. ...scene was actually quite different from the trendy Parisian nightclubs on the Champs Elysées. Rather than tight-jean-wearing and gelled-hair young bon chic, bon genre types clumped together around bottles of expensive vodka and champagne, the firemen opened their locales to a rather eclectic crowd. The bouncers did not check for fancy shoes and good looks, but for lack of weapons or alcohol (luckily we made sure to dispose of the latter beforehand).
