HARVARD CREW QUARTERS, RED TOP, CT., June 17, 1907.--The work for the crews here today was moderately light. In the morning the University crew went downstream for a mile, and then returned up the river to Red Top, after which it again went downstream for half a mile before leaving the water. YALE CREW QUARTERS, GALES FERRY, CT., June 16, 1907.-Yesterday morning the university eight held another time row, going upstream over smooth water, in the time of 22 minutes and 37 seconds. The crew was towed to the draw bridge and started there, the freshman eight taking up the race at the one-mile mark. At the two-mile mark the university fur-oar joined in with a lead of a third of a mile. The university crew succeeded in beating the freshmen by one length. HARVARD CREW QUARTERS, RED TOR, CT., June 16, 1907.-This morning several members of the University and Freshman squads attended church at Gales Ferry, and, in the afternoon, the University squad was given a sail in the house boat owned by Mr. Larz Anderson '88. The work on Saturday was light for all crews except the University four-oar, which covered about 7 miles in the afternoon. The University eight rowed over the four-mile course in the afternoon in 22 minutes and 33 seconds. This is the best time tat the crew has made so far this year...
HARVARD CREW QUARTERS, RED TOP, CT., June 14, 1907.--The University crew had its first time trial over the four-mile course late this afternoon, covering the distance in 22 minutes and 46 seconds. There was a slightly favoring tide; but Blagden steered a poor course, losing the force of the tide by not staying near enough to the channel. At about 7.15 o'clock the men went in the launch downstream as far as the New London railroad bridge.
