...Captain Cumnock played Lake and Fearing at half-back, and during the first half they were sent through the cetre instead of around the ends as usual. The success which attended this style of play, considering the strength of the Cornell centre, is encouraging. Lake's work was particularly good; one of his rushes through the centre of the Cornell team and nearly half the length of the field was remarkable.
