...another "cure" for baldness may lie in the announcement that scientists have located a gene for excessive hairiness. Researchers from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston have uncovered the gene that causes generalized hypertrichosis. People who have the gene are born with excessive hair on their face and upper body. The condition is exceedingly rare: only about 50 cases have been reported since the Middle Ages.
