Today the Seniors will begin the wearing of caps and gowns, a custom so time-honored as to need no explanation. It is an honor which any Senior should be proud to have reached, and a custom which none should fail to observe through false modesty or laziness. The question, of course, arises whether caps and gowns in themselves establish a speaking acquaintance between the wearers, and we believe the answer of former classes has wisely been in the affirmative. Certainly their use could serve no better purpose than to bind classmates more closely together during the last few weeks...

Seniors are reminded that today, being the first of May, will be the first day for wearing caps and gowns. As this old custom of wearing caps and gowns during the month of May is of great value to the class, it is especially desirable that every Senior be prepared to wear them. All gowns ordered before April 1 are now ready for delivery at Brine's, and should be secured at once. Men who have not yet been measured should take advantage of the few remaining opportunities to order their gowns at once. CLASS DAY COMMITTEE...

Professor Clifford H. Moore '89, of the Latin department, will exchange with Professor W. S. Ferguson of the University of California, and will attend the summer session at the University of California, which begins on Monday, June 24, and closes on Saturday, August 3. It has been the custom for the past few years to send a University professor to the summer session at the University of California. Among others, Professor W. James '69, and professor A. C.
