...Louis Danval, a pharmacist at Paris was convicted of poisoning his wife with arsenic, after a quarrel. Chemists had found one milligram of arsenic in the woman's body. M. Dan-val was sentenced to life imprisonment in New Caledonia. Then in 1902 Gabriel Bertrand, French chemist, announced that arsenic is habitually found in the human body.
