Walden Robert Cassoto, 37, the crooner known as Bobby Darin, who at 22 became a rock-'n'-roll star with Splish Splash, won a larger audience with his driving version of Kurt Weill's Mack the Knife; following open-heart surgery for a longtime heart ailment; in Los Angeles. A confessed student of the Sinatra style, Darin characteristically loosened his tie and snapped his fingers even when singing somber songs. In 1960 he married Sandra Dee, but by the middle of the decade both his marriage and his career were turning sour. A divorce...
