...trusting enough to ask the government to do anything that's big and important? And if not now, when? And if not government, working with churches and civic groups and businesses and individuals, then who? It is Bradley's challenge to every other candidate: Why should they not dare to dream heroic dreams? as Ronald Reagan once put it. And now it is their challenge to make the case that a big idea is not always a good idea. "Big and bold is fine," says an adviser to Al Gore. "Big and bold and unrealistic...
...they're sexy, they're sporty, their enthusiasm may even be a little scary, but don't you dare call them the Spice Girls. First of all, they're women, not girls, and they are anything but bubble-gum pop vixens. Aside from their aforementioned bare-it-all costumes, the flygirls plan on doing the scene where Jesus comes before Herod in dominatrix-chic, complete with fishnet stockings and rhinestone brassieres (the scene was often treated in previous productions as a cross between a vaudeville soft-shoe and soft-core porn as envisioned by the cast of The Rocky Horror...

Bacon plays a working stiff who dares one of his wife's friends to hypnotize him. It turns out to be a costly move--he finds himself hallucinating 24/7, besieged by images of ghosts. Sounds hokey, but The Sixth Sense is fluff next to this one. Just try to keep your eyes open the whole time. I dare...
...same name. This is not a stretch from her previous work, but that is not such a bad thing (remember Elizabeth Berkeley trying to shed her teenybopper image in Showgirls? Neither do I. Staying with what you know can be an extraordinary move, actually). Yet this movie, even (or dare I say especially?) in its clichd nature, pushes that cute little button that makes us all instantly comforted by the tender orderliness of a happy ending...
