Herbert Jaques '11, who is a member of the University track advisory committee, will address all men interested in distance running at the Varsity Club this evening at 7 o'clock. It is especially desired that all men competing in the 220-yard dash, 440-yard run, 880-yard run, mile run, and two-mile run, attend the meeting. The subject will be "The Fine Points of Racing and Training." It is planned by this lecture to correct some of the minor faults which arise through lack of experience and are responsible for the loss of many races...
...sprints will be well taken care of by F. F. Williams and B. S. Blanchard. Both are fast runners of considerable experience, and under Coach Donovan's tutelage will undoubtedly improve. In the recent Winter Carnival Williams won the 40-yard dash and was lead-off man for the Freshman relay team, on which Blanchard was anchor man. In the quarter the team will have two men in H. B. Davis and P. E. Stevenson who have been running especially well at this distance, and they will form a stiff opposition to the quarter-milers of the opposing teams...
...yard dash W. Willcox, Jr., '17, who has covered the distance in the phenomenal time of 48 seconds flat, will be the mainstay. A. E. Rowse '18, J. Coggeshall '18, F. T. Donahue '18, H. W. Minot '17, J. F. Ryan '19 and W. H. Meanix '19 have all done the quarter in fast time and will do good work in this event. Captain Teschner, who has been running the 440 indoors, may also be used in the quarter in outdoor meets. These men will help to fill the vacancies in the 440 made by the graduation...
