Pete Dow got a second in the 100 yard dash, and Charlie Durakis finished fifth in the high hurdles. The sprint relay team finished fourth, mostly on the strength of a fine anchor leg by Dow. The remaining Crimson points were scored by Phil Pratt with a fourth in the discus and by Bob Mello, who tied for third in the pole vault...

...heyday the industry turned out figures for every trade, from cobbler to pawnbroker; after 1900, it began to die out. A few Indians are still coming' out of New England wood shops, but they are reproductions without the oldtime dash and color. In 20 years Collector Haffenreffer has bought scores of the ancient figures for his private museum. He refuses to put a price on his collection, but the 22 figures he has lent M.I.T. are valued at $25,000, and the price will go up as more & more of the old chieftains disappear from the U.S. scene...

Todd Lewis appears likely to do the most damage to Crimson hopes. The lanky Yale senior last week tied the all-time Yale 100-yard dash record of 9.7 and then ran a 21.5 220 an hour later. Bob Twitchell, who will compete in four events, and sophomore Pete Dow could beat the fleet Lewis but will have to turn in their best performances of the year to do it. In the broad jump, however, injured Captain Bill Geick and Bob Mello aren't likely to be able to better Lewis's 24-feet jumping...
