A by-scene in the play is afforded by the abduction of Florimel, daughter of the miller, by Count Otrante; later the miller and his son Bustopha succeed in winning the King's favor, Florimel is found at the home of the count, and the two eventtually fall in love and are married...

Following are the characters: Frau von Grumbach, P. G. Robinson '03; Franz von Grumbach, H. J. Davenport '00; Malwina, the daughter, F. Watson '02; Adelheid Hopfstengel, E. B. Ahlborn '02; Andreas Sangerhaus, the steward, A. N. Fuller '00; and the maid, A. Drinkwater '00.
