Professor David Franklin Houston, A. M. '92, has been prominent in educational affairs in the south for a number of years. He was graduated from South Carolina College in 1887 and in 1892 received the degree of A.M. from Harvard. Soon afterwards he became a professor of political science at the University of Texas. In 1905 he became president of the University of Texas and held that office until last spring, when he resigned to become chancellor of Washington University in St. Louis.
