Francis Xavier Schwab, genial mayor of Buffalo, met austere Producer David Belasco for the first time last week, at the tryout of Belasco's The Big Fight (in which Pugilist Jack Dempsey is a star). The mayor, pleased, told his chauffeur to go out and get a gold key to the city. This done, Mayor Schwab solemnly said: "I present this key as a mark of esteem from Buffalo and hope, Mr. Belasco, that you will return here countless times with premieres of your matchless plays."
