...would provide a critical understanding of a number of important problems of the late 20th century U.S.: inequality, alienation, sexism, militarism, racism, imperialism, ecological destruction and others. The fact that these pressing problems have important economic roots and economic consequences did not, of course, insure that they would be dealt with as part of the economics curriculum.
