...students, to paraphrase Dean Swift (who probably never would have managed to secure a tenured post here at Harvard), they are just half a blessing and just half a curse and I wish, my dear friend, they were better or worse. There is great talent, great idealism and even greater decency and good sense slumbering in the breasts of most of the students I have met or worked with during my brief stay. Many students are already mature human beings engaged in useful thought and action, but, to the extent that they are, they are doing so in spite...
...West Germany's Chancellor Helmut Schmidt acidly described Britain as "the poor relative of Europe." He also reminded Wilson that until the oil begins to flow in volume, a nearly bankrupt Britain will be dependent on the support and good will of the Community's richer members. "Dear Harold," Schmidt said, "you still have two or three difficult years ahead of you. The Community is in the habit of coming to the aid of its members in difficulty. In the event of another economic crisis, there would be great need for the common front of all members...

Princeton Recording Secretary Fred Fox says that if "sons...

The play itself is a watered down, '50s version of the original, but Stephen Kolzak's direction is tight and his cast--with the unfortunate exception of Robert Beusamn as Miss Lonelyhearts--ably conveys the negativity of W est's vision. In the Quincy House Dining Room, December 11-13, at 8:15 p.m. Tickets...
...dear Girl, I thank Heaven that another Fortnight will restore you to me--after so long a separation. My soul and Body have both been thrown into disorder by your Absence, and a Month of two more would make me the most insufferable Cynick in the World...
