Usage:

...very strange word-"bathysophical". What meaning that can convey to those who have little Latin and less Greek I should not venture to say. Search in the dictionaries and Concise Oxford, Webster Century is in vain. The contex would give to one knowing its Greek roots the meaning "deep sea enthusiast". Then why not use that adjective? But "bathysophical" requires some mental conjuring. And then you are uncertain...
