In the Big Ten Conference, the alleged angel of angels was a do-or-die Iowa alumnus, war-rich from the deep-freeze business and completely fed up with seeing the old school ploughed under. The Big Ten's front office denied any knowledge whatsoever of professionalism. The more it said, the more certain it appeared that there were at least 30 or 40 fully accredited angels at work.
