...Seniors of Harvard have no right in such a procession, if they bear their intended transparency. No gentleman has the right to say or do anything to the detriment of the man whose salt he is eating. The Senior Class is equally bound in honor not to attempt to defeat the object of the Republican procession; a thing which they will attempt if they thus proclaim their hostility to Mr. Blaine...

...assembled on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon expected anything but victory for our eleven after the satisfactory result of the game against the Technology on the 11th. The despondency which came over the audience when they realized that defeat stared us in the face can, therefore, be readily imagined. The game was called at 3.25 with Harvard at the West End of the field, a strong wind in their favor. Some fruiting blows have recently been dealt to the tennis interest ; the severest being the reduction in the number of available courts caused by the construction of the new track and diamond on Holmes field. The defeat too of our representatives at Hartford cannot fail to produce a depressing effect. If, then, this sport, on which so many undergraduates depend for the principal means of exercise, is to be maintained in our midst, every facility for its pursuit must be afforded. We therefore invite the tennis...
