...yawn at the sight of another picture of Reed Krakoff, the executive creative director of Coach. True, the guy gets more press than Demi and Ashton, but he has turned the stodgy American brand favored by New Canaan, Conn., housewives and briefcase-toting free-lance writers into a global fashion status symbol. In fiscal year 2003 alone, Coach profits were up 67%. And while the rest of the retail industry was struggling with the effects of SARS, war in Iraq and unemployment, Krakoff was catapulting Coach from a half-a-billion-dollar company to a projected $1.1 billion company...

...enter the Special Olympics. If that doesn't make you want to give up on Western culture, consider ASHTON KUTCHER, host of the MTV prank show Punk'd and Knoxville's heir aberrant. Not only is Kutcher a gossip-page staple thanks to his dalliance with Demi Moore, but he is also morphing into a legitimate thespian (stop that giggling!). He has half a dozen movies on the way, including The Woods, from Signs auteur M. Night Shyamalan. Rumors even have him starring in a big-screen remake of that other '70s show, The Dukes of Hazzard, with Britney Spears...

...that she was way, way better looking than he was? Or did she simply conclude that no matter what she did, she could never fill the void in Rock's heart left by the late midget rapper Joe C.? Most probably Rock, 32, got wind of that Ashton Kutcher--Demi Moore pairing and realized that at 35, Anderson was just too young...

Either this is an unusually long and elaborate episode of his prank show Punk'd, or else ASHTON KUTCHER and DEMI MOORE are an item. Kutcher, 25, and Moore, who turned 40 last year, have been spotted getting handsy with each other all over town, most recently at a party thrown by music mogul P. Diddy after the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles. Kutcher has clearly never seen St. Elmo's Fire; then again, he was 7 when it came out, and it is rated R. But maybe he could use the guidance of an older woman. Lately...
