...show left most in the audience wanting more. The first act was especially short, with five scenes compared to the second act's seven. The structure of the second act was repetitive as well, as both acts included a showy opening act, an unfolding conspiracy and a pas deus between Cleopatra and her Roman gentleman. The only change in the second half of the production is that Cleopatra makes Marc Antony chase her to Egypt, and a final scene is added to close the ballet...
...moment too soon. But the backlash also caught three of TV's brightest, most heartfelt programs--Felicity, Roswell and Freaks and Geeks--each of which happens to feature protagonists not yet old enough to drink, and each of which is counting on creative fan support and deus ex machinas to keep it from becoming a teen angel...
Despite the contrived plot and deus-ex-machina ending, The Skulls, possibly unwittingly, demonstrates how there is clearly no place for these exclusive, self-interested groups on a modern campus...
