Among other things, the victory showed that Harvard has two of the best track coaches in the country. We knew all along that Coach Quinn would develop some good men in the field events, but Coach Donovan had never been in charge of a Harvard track team before this spring. The result is as much of a triumph for him as for the members of the team, for without a good coach it is certain that no such good showing would have been made. King has coxswained the University crew in the temporary absence of Blagden, and Fales has gone out with the second boat...
Next year's team will be greatly handicapped by the loss of Ford, Willetts and Washburn, who made undoubtedly the strongest and best-developed defense that Harvard has ever had. It will be necessary to develop practically new material for these positions. In spite of this weakness, the fast line of forwards who have played together throughout the season and who will all return, gives reasonable ground for expecting another good team next year...
