...East's dissatisfaction with Prohibition was manifest in the 1930 Congressional elections. This year the Wet vote in the House reached an all-time Prohibition peak of 187. The G. O. P. in New Jersey, Illinois and Vermont last month plumped for resubmission or repeal. A Literary Digest poll showed preponderant wet sentiment in every State except Kansas and North Carolina.
