...House System, which you admit "might not be the best for all students," vs. the admission of more women. Wouldn't the "diploma mill" you dread as a result of other (non-House) accommodations be cagendered also if equal admissions caused the ranks of Harvard undergraduates to swell to 9600 because of the inconceivability of admitting fewer men on a long-run basis? And how dare you deem, based solely on your own opinion, that the House system is the most important aspect of the Harvard experience...
...those who prefer them. Surely this plan is cheaper than building a new House and less contentious than ripping down old frame houses. But the quality of undergraduate living at the college is compromised. That some students prefer alternate arrangements does not mean that these are best. For a diploma mill, a nine to five association with the institution would suffice; for the University, the collegiate way of living is best. Transient movements and causes should not set aside this tradition...

...Faculty will once more attempt to reform this Star Chamber. A motion presented by two members of last year's CRR will recommend that it permit Bonnie Blustein '72 to receive her diploma. Blustein--who had fulfilled all degree requirements--was not permitted to graduate in June because the CRR convicted her of participating in an antiwar sit-in at the Littauer Center May 10. We urge the Faculty to accept this motion. Denying Blustein her diploma was an act of spite which makes no sense even to the faulty logic...
