...wine list alone made me feel like I had stepped into a European restaurant without even booking a flight. I had the Louis Latour Grand Ardeche with my Chicken Roti—a roasted chicken dish with laurel, garlic and butery goodness. The mixed green salad, assorted with a surprisingly sweet mixture of pickled grapes and butter-doused raisins, was a perfect compliment. ...bulk of each ticket’s cost ($49) evidently doesn’t go towards food, the meal isn’t bad. French bread and an iceberg lettuce salad accompany entrees including lasagna, baked ziti and pastas with pesto cream, marinara and Italian sausage sauces. Worse, our TVs continued to operate, revealing just how psychologically entwined Montanans are with distant urban centers. Though the fact might embarrass some rugged individualists, the Western outback is satellite-TV country; normal transmissions can't make it between the mountains. Drinks aside, the tiny dishes of salsa, spice and unrecognizable smoosh were a welcome addition to the homemade tortilla chips—especially after everyone snarfed down the guacamole.
