Watson suspended the regulation which permitted only official undergraduate organizations to sell or distribute items on University property. He based his decision on the fact that the group did not have time to be recognized officially this term and on the need for flexibility in College rules.
The Green Feather organization may distribute its anti-McCarthy pins and literature in the dining halls if enough undergraduate interest is shown, Dean Watson said last night.
Watson said that flexibility must be allowed in cases like this. If the purpose of the group is merely to distribute the pins, he said he saw no reason why they could not do so without being recognized.
