Colorado's liberalized abortion law, passed just last month, is already proving its value. In one case, a woman married to a temporarily sterile husband was raped in April. When it became clear that she was pregnant, she and her husband complained to the district attorney. She had become severely depressed, said one of her doctors in applying for the abortion permission, and the operation was needed to help relieve this depression and "because of obvious social consequences if the pregnancy is not interrupted."
