The past 24 hours have included some of the deadliest natural disasters in the nation's recent history. In Glenwood Springs, Colorado, wind whipped up one of dozens of forest fires now ravaging Western states, trapping 52 fire fighters and killing 13. "Technically we outswan them but they had some awesome divers," she added. "After Princeton we reshaved for Easterns and most people swan really well. Second was great."
From the start the women had a small team, with only 21 swimmers and 5 divers.
The area most affected by injury was the diving team. Out of five divers, only two were consistent competitors. But these two--freshman Kara Miller and sophomore Hilary Grubb--finished in the top three in most meets and held the team together.
The divers also performed well, with both senior Marcia Vital and sophomore Hilary Grubb finaling in both the 1- and 3-meter platform competitions.
