Rowlands and Simons weren't always the Chemical Brothers. When they hit the Manchester club scene in the early '90s, the two DJs were the Dust Brothers, attracting a cult following at the clubs Naked Under Leather and Most Excellent. Their mixing philosophy and music choice at the time are best described by Rowlands himself, "Big Bass, Big Drums, Siren, Mad."
