...Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld’s resignation on Nov. 8, however, marks a step in the right direction. With estimates as high as 650,000 Iraqi deaths since the war began in 2003, Rumsfeld’s hubristic view of himself in the Department of Defense (DoD) as omnipotent military orchestrator has led to nothing short of disaster. ...numerous politicians from both major parties. Almost all his critics point to his arrogance, his refusal to acknowledge his mistakes, his lack of respect for the armed forces, and his officious inclination towards military micromanagement. This source also says that the bodies of those killed at Haditha have not been exhumed, which makes proving murder "very challenging...

Forty-five million dollars in federal grants to Yale University are under investigation by the federal government amid concerns about inadequate accounting practices at the school in New Haven. According to Yale administrators, the university received subpoenas from the Department of Defense (DOD), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the National Science Foundation (NSF) late last week. The subpoenas requested material relating to a total of 47 grants. Yale, like other major universities including Harvard, relies heavily on federal funding for scientific studies and receives the bulk of its federal grants from the DOD...
