MUST GIVE US PAWS It was dog day morning and afternoon in New York City last week, when the 123rd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show hit town. Despite the fact that it's no walk in the park to win best of breed in the Old English Sheepdog category, twice as many entered this year as in 1998. This is what made Yoshi, co-owned by Jere Marder, the leader of the herders...
...Gramm, a scathing Clinton critic, eating an overflowing plate of red meat, looked as if he might serve as the new nemesis. Gramm was going on about how it was his constitutional duty (sound familiar?) to block censure (remember censure?), and would filibuster if need be until the last dog died. On Friday, when Gramm rose to block the measure, it was more with a whimper than a bang. No one much cared. Clinton's enemies are going to have to do better than that if he's to thrive...

...progressed, her voice only grew richer and warmer, and it was like someone flambed the bath. "Get Real" was a refreshing original funk rock number delivered with so much punch that it felt like getting soaked on a dog day. By the time she closed her set with a cover of Eddy Arnold's "You Don't Know Me," the place was utterly drenched in her voice. From the first moment you hear her, you know that Tardy is something very special. I am almost embarrassed that she is still in school, subject to mundane concerns like response papers, when...
