Arrangements have been made for a straight-away quarter mile match race between W. C. Downs of Harvard and W. C. Dohm of Princeton. The direct object of the race is to attempt to break the world's record of 47 3-4 secnow held by Wendell Baker '86. The place of the race is not yet determined, but it will take place either at Beacon Park or Mystic Park or some other straight-away course. Detailed arrangements will be made by the N. Y. A. C., who will offer a prize for the winner...

...second. Cary's work was exceptionally good, as he won the 100, 220 and 440 yards dashes. In the 100 yards dash Sherrill and Cary met; the race was very close until within five yards of the tape, when Sherrill broke down, Cary then winning easily. Neither Downs nor Dohm took part in the games, although, they had both entered. Downs did not leave Cambrige, while Dohm was not feeling well...
