Gadget Propaganda. Propaganda is also magazines, movies, handbills, leaflets for bombers to drop, soap, matches, shoelaces, games, puzzles, gadgets of all sorts, packaged to carry a message. These are the domain of Operations' Overseas Publications Bureau, headed by ex-Associated Pressman Ed Stanley. They are the work of such once highly paid talents as Artist-Humorist Ludwig Bemelmans, Scenarist Robert Riskin (Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, etc.), Novelist Jerome (I Can Get It for You Wholesale) Weidmann, Author Humphrey Cobb (Paths of Glory), Adman Ted Patrick and others...

Biggest island of freedom in Europe is the wild mountainous triangle of old Serbia dominated by General Draja Mihailovich. The Yugoslavs fight in a bumptiously Balkan way: in separate groups divided by ancient hates. Thus, within Mihailovich's domain operates a separate force directed by the Yugoslav Communist Party...

Last week Queen Wilhelmina visited the Dutch-descended President of the U.S. at Hyde Park. Then, wearing her store-bought clothes from Pittsfield, she motored to the island that Dutchman Peter Minuit bought from the Indians for $24, a city that might have been under her domain but for the casual fall of New Amsterdam 278 years...
