Usage:

...programme was mostly made up of the old and almost wrinkled favorites which have done duty so often in Cambridge, "Ave Maria," "Comrades in Arms," etc., and two or three new songs were sung which are to be brought out at the next concert at Lyceum Hall. Mr. Szemelenyi's tenor solo "Spirito Gentil" was encored, and the performers are confident that the piano duet would have been also, if the piano had had a little more "grand" about it. Rich and luxurious bindings have been prized from early times, but to attempt cheap imitations by cloth covers emblazoned with all the colors of the rainbow, as is done especially in some recent editions of the poets, is enough to blackball them against admittance into the libraries of persons of taste. Better the old-fashioned, sober, hog-skin cover than the flash and flimsy bindings of some of our modern books...

Nine, and its result gives us hope that it will be as good as the old one, notwithstanding the loss of such valuable men as White, Eustis, Estabrooks, and Annan. Captain Tyler has done exceedingly well to produce so good a Nine in so short a time and out of material so untried. Bettens was much praised for his catching. The following is the score...

...this connection, though with no slanderous intent, we feel called upon to warn our fellow-students that it will soon be necessary to bid farewell to a College officer. The watchman is about to leave us. The Faculty feel that he has done well, that he has done more than well, but a watchman is no longer needed at their weekly meetings, and he must go.
