The Radcliffe tennis team defeated Jackson College, 5-2, yesterday in the opening match of the season. The 'Cliffies swept all four singles matches but were weak in doubles, as the team warmed up for the Barnard and Princeton games this weekend.
Harvard was playing without co-captain Dave Fish, who is sidelined with tendonitis. Fish was first troubled with tennis elbow last spring, when he was playing third singles and second doubles, and he was forced to sit out several squash matches this past winter.
No Doubles Trouble
Harvard's doubles teams should be stronger than they have been in years. Masterson and Lindner team at number one, followed by Ingard-Nielson and Barnett-Loring.
"The whole point is to get organized, to experiment with doubles teams, and to practice with matches," Robertson said.
