...answer your question in a much broader context - the statistical analysts have permeated the game to a much greater extent than almost anyone realizes. I doubt that there's an organization anymore that totally ignores sophisticated statistical analysis. And in most organizations, people who do fairly sophisticated statistical analysis are listened to and respected. It certainly wasn't like that 10 years...
