This is the most important match of the year for both teams. Last year Harvard won at Philadelphia by the score of 12 to 4. This year the game is very much in doubt as there has been no way of comparing the two teams...
...very frequency of these lectures no doubt leads us to look upon them as events of common occurrence and to take little note of them, thinking in a hazy sort of way that they are a part of the college course which we are not following. They should not be neglected, however. Few of us will have the opportunity in after life of hearing men of such repute as Dr. Doerpfeld, Dr. Fiske, and Professor Allen...
Some of these men, out of rather selfish motives, are no doubt waiting for the Yale debate trials, thinking that that debate is the more important of the two. But it is not. Yesterday afternoon '97, in the final game for the championship, defeated '99 by the score of 10 to 0. The Seniors had an easy time of it, the result of the game being never in doubt. '97 gained through tackle almost at will, and their line as a rule, held strongly. In the second half, '97 played on the defensive and merely tried to keep '99 from scoring...
...only positions on the eleven which are now in doubt for Saturday's game are the tackles. Wheeler is uncertain, Mills is still laid up, and will probably not recover in time for the game, and Merriman's knee still bothers him a little. There is some talk of Gould, tackle on last year's team, who is now in the Medical School, playing, but this is very improbable as he is not in condition. Swain, Lee and Woodward are the only tackles who are uninjured and in good condition to play...
