Matthew Johnson's editorial "Time to Put Women in Drag, Too" (Opinion, Dec. 10) is both historically inaccurate and fundamentally misrepresentative. We do not want to belabor his lack of research, but if he wishes to open a dialogue about the status of the Pudding show, as he claims, he should have contacted someone on our board in order to get his facts straight...
Defenders of the Pudding frequently make the mistake of claiming an audience finds males in drag funny, but not females in drag. The humor arises from the supposed "lowering" of the male and from a ritualized disgust with male-male love. Examples of these prejudices abound in recent scripts, as do examples of racial prejudice, unshakably welded to sexist and homophobic discourse...

...that success will follow depends on the reception of this rather short and sometimes bland album. While the sound is quite unique, it may be perceived as a little too much of the same thing. Monotonous tracks like "Jessica" and "That's the Way Love Goes" really begin to drag. The record is also rather short; the 10 songs are only about 45 minutes long in all. The disc ends with a 15 minute extra track that kills any of the excitement that Peach Head had created. Then again, Natural Calamity never claimed to be exciting, but instead let "anything...
