...about 50,000 cars -Buicks, Oldsmobiles and Cadillacs-equipped with air bags as a $200 optional substitute for seat belts. During a collision, the bags are supposed to prevent serious injury by ejecting and popping open to quickly fill the space between driver and windshield, then instantly deflate. NELSON ROCKEFELLER, 65. An old G.O.P. rival, he is now a fairly cordial supporter of Nixon's, and as four-term Governor of New York he ranks among the nation's most experienced politicians. The only drawback is probably that Boston no longer sees as much of this outfit as the city collectively deserves. This is to be their only summer appearance around here. It'd probably be well worth anybody's while to brave the Schaeffer atmosphere to see them. Just get there early, take...
