...Almost all of the 2,550 seats have been sold for the day's matinee. The ensuing spectacle of song and dance looks like it was put together by Las Vegas choreographers and drill instructors from Pyongyang. It's a mix of high kitsch, discipline and idealism, driving home a singular message: love endures. The three-hour show has about 120 actors, begins with a musical play (Raindrops Fall on Roses) and ends with a song-and-dance revue (Amour, It's Something Like ...). The costumes are adorned with enough glitter to make Liberace's eyes water. (See pictures...

Suicide bombers in cars or on foot were responsible for 14% of the victims in the study, while U.S. airstrikes killed 4%. ...These days, most serious sugar makers have foregone labor-intensive buckets, in favor of tubing systems. The holes bored in sugar maples in early spring are usually made with a cordless drill. Sugar makers insert small plastic spouts into the holes and connect the spouts to huge webs of plastic tubing that route the precious sap into large tanks. Many of these sugar bushes even have vacuum systems that suck the sap out of the trees to increase yield, along with oil-fueled furnaces and reverse osmosis filters that remove some water prior to boiling. The technology has changed dramatically...
