Hudkins-Walker. Ace Hudkins, pal of Charles Lindbergh, bouquet-lover, and broken nosed punch-drinker who fights flail-fisted, lunged after middleweight champion Mickey Walker in a wet ring in Chicago. Rain on the canvas was stained with the blood that flowed from the lips and noses of both men. Walker won two rounds, Hudkins five, the rest were even. When the referee, with finger pointing at Walker, yelled "The winner, and still champion. . . ." the crowd jumped up and booed for 15 minutes...

Died. Richard Charles Flannigan, 70, Judge of the 25th Judicial Circuit; of pleurisy; in Chicago. It was he who presided over the famed Theodore Roosevelt libel case in 1913. George A. Newett, an editor of Ishpeming, Mich., had described Roosevelt in print as a "hard drinker." Damages awarded to the late President by Judge Flannigan...

Professor Drinker has had constructed in the basement of the School of Public Health building a model granite cutting shop, with all the typical cutting and surfacing machines. Various granite associations, much interested in the experiments, contributed must of the machines and are sending a granite cutter to work in the model shop under typical condition. As Professor Drinker's special field is ventilation, he expects to conduct most of his researches in this line, with the view of cleaning out the dust laden air in the shops before the workers have had time to breathe...
