...meantime, I'll try to teach her by my own abstinent example and take solace in not having lied about my own youth--which surely she'll have heard about by then (possibly from her mother or her grandma). If I'd been a less spectacular drinker, I might be able to rewrite my past, but I'm afraid that, like the President, I already blew that gambit.
