...administrators should be unafraid to make this case and refocus the facility’s mission toward its target audience. But if, as we suspect, no such case really exists, then we should dispense with the “Women’s Center” moniker, drop the charade, and dedicate this space to the entire undergraduate community. The center’s staff, we know, is welcoming to all, but the sign at the front door is certainly not. Andrew M. Trombly ’08, a Crimson associate editorial chair, is a philosophy concentrator in Dunster House...

...have a particular concern in the implementation of UHS’s billing students. UHS currently plans to tack the fee onto students’ termbills, which is a reasonable way that many Harvard departments charge students necessary fees. The Office of the Registrar, for example, term-bills add-drop fees. But if a $10 charge for, say, a missed mental health appointment, appears on a student’s termbill, then a student’s parents, or anyone else who views a student’s termbill, might discover a medical detail that the student had wished...

...banning closely. After all, what's cooler than a formerly banned name? I don't know yet if the name I've picked is banned or not. There's reason to suggest it is, but similar names are now common and so maybe it will be okay. I could drop by the registry office and check, but I worry if my baby's name is on the banned list they'll remember me two months from now and it will be harder to offer a bribe, which of course requires discretion. The other option is to choose an acceptable back...
