Although conducted in a duet which dreamily imitates the worst of Cole Porter, Mona Kent's seduction of the wealthy Captain injects some welcome opportunism into an otherwise hopelessly unworldly world. Goodness prevails, but, gratifyingly, even the selfish end up happy in Dames...
