...predestined that you're going to be famous enough that you can greenlight pictures and then decide what pictures you want to make. Once I got in there and figured it out, and it took me a while to figure out, being famous, and I did some relatively dumb movies early on, but once I got to the realizaton that I was going to be held responsible for the movies, not just the performance in them, then I started picking movies that I wanted to do and getting them made when no one no one wanted to make them...
...hand. They are good-natured lads - smart, but not mean-spirited - and richly blessed by the presence of John C. Reilly in the title role. He's happy to play dumb - allowing Dewey to live profitably within the unexamined premises, the mythic fatuity, of his media-driven myth. Like the other films Apatow has been involved with, Walk Hard is a clever blend of very broad, occasionally raunchy gag-smithing and an unspoken, yet palpable, social shrewdness. For the moment...

With 900 missiles aimed at Taiwan on China's coast and U.S. carrier battle groups sailing through the Taiwan Strait, there's ample opportunity for miscalculation...
...enough to notice the world's fascination--if not obsession--with it. To this day it is all but impossible for me to actually stop and think of my parents as white and black or to think of myself, therefore, as half and half. This is the dumb mathematics of thinking by race--dumb because race is used here as a kind of bullying truth that pushes aside the actual human experience...
