Nothing shocks him. Not the rookie hazing, not the dusk-'til-dawn NFL marathon, not Randy Moss' tattoos and definitely not success. Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Matt Birk '98 has grown satisfyingly accustomed to these things--especially the last. Having won 24 of his last 27 football games dating back to Harvard's 1997 Ivy League Championship season, Birk can afford...

...officers grilled Ahmed for days but finally concluded he was making up the tale. If an informant is credible, the agency often dispatches a special countersurveillance unit, nicknamed the snapshot team, which will sit in the embassy, wearing night-vision goggles from dusk to dawn, and peer out windows to spot terrorists casing the building. No snapshot team was dispatched to Nairobi. Instead, the station sent out another warning report: Ahmed is probably fabricating the story, but he could be telling the truth, or he could be approaching the embassy to check its security...

Air Force F-16s lined up their high-speed antiradiation missiles to target Baghdad's air defenses. "We were cocked, loaded and ready," a top Pentagon offiCIAl said. H hour was 60 minutes away...

...afraid to rely on excessive campiness. While Vampires never quite reaches the level of ingenious nonsense as, say, Sam Raimi's Evil Dead, its clever blend of Dracula and The Wild Bunch makes for an embarrassingly fun ride. Much like the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez vampire spaghetti western From Dusk Till Dawn, Vampires doesn't have a shred of seriousness to it. Which is more credible--the sight of Daniel Baldwin cauterizing a wound with the barrel of a freshly shot machine gun or James Woods trying to stuff a dozen decapitated heads into a pillowcase...
