Last week, there came revolution to Ecuador. Troops in Quito, the capital, and Guayaquil captured the civil and military authorities at both places, jailed them. General Francisco Gomez de la Torre was proclaimed Military Chief of Government. The people were given to understand that the coup had been planned to end maladministration.
