¶ The American Scene will present contemporary U.S. authors, e.g., Walter Edmonds, John Dos Passos, and readings from their works by such performers as Julie Harris, Ed Begley and James Daly.
The men are involved in writing for newspapers, magazines, radio and television, or in general writing. They include such names as Cleveland Amory '39, Brooks Atkinson '17, Nathaniel Benchley '38, Stuart Chase '10, John Dos Passos '16 and Walter D. Edmonds '26.
Walter D. Edmonds '26 and Victor O. Jones '28 have been elected to posts on the Harvard Alumni Bulletin. They fill positions held by the late Joseph R. Hamlen '04, who served nearly 32 years in the dual role of president and director.
Edmonds, who was elected president and publisher, wrote Drums Along the Mohawk. He was a member of the board of overseers from 1945 to 1950.
