Professor Munsterberg will sail for Germany on Saturday, where he will officially represent the St. Louis Exposition in an effort to secure the co-operation of the German government and educational institutions in the international congress of science to be held in St. Louis next year. Professor Simon Newcomb '58 of Johns Hopkins University and Professor Small of the University of Chicago, have been made similar envoys to France and England, respectively. ...form two crews reported at the Weld and Newell Boathouses, yesterday, for the graded crews which are to be entered in the annual regatta of the Metropolitan Amateur Rowing Association. All men who intend to try for these crews should report at their respective boathouses this afternoon. ...University baseball team defeated Williams on Saturday, in a slow game, by a score of 8 to 2. The team showed less spirit than they have in previous games, for when a victory was practically assured, the men made little effort to increase the score, with the result that the game was the slowest played by the team this year. The batting was again most unsatisfactory. Against a pitcher much inferior to Stillman, the team aggregated two less hits than their opponents, and were generally unable to hit at the opportune moment. One successful bunt was made. Spring football practice will commence this afternoon on the Freshman baseball grounds at Soldiers Field. The time for the practice today will be 3.30 o'clock, but hereafter the hour will be fixed to suit the convenience of the candidates. An effort will be made to increase the importance of this period of the football training, and though the work will last only two weeks, it is expected to prove very helpful to those candidates who take part.
