Adam Yarmolinsky, 40, is the elder statesman of the Whiz Kids. Short and unobtrusive in appearance, he is special assistant to McNamara and Deputy Secretary of Defense. He won grudging respect from the military recently by taking an unscheduled parachute jump with an Army Special Forces group he was inspecting ("It just seemed to be the thing to do"). He graduated from Harvard and Yale Law School, was once a clerk to retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stanley Reed. Less a specialist than most Whiz Kids, he is a keen troubleshooter with a fluent pen and an eye for extracting...
Beauty in Slop Jars. Such is his rare candor to his elder confidant that he is able to confess the first signs in himself of a troubled spirit, "feeling inexplicably like crying or biting into something or beating it with my fists." Also, while still a schoolboy, he salutes the first intimations of his special vision of life, "feeling the beauty of everything, not excluding slop jars and foetuses-and a feeling of love for everything-and now I've run into Walt Whitman-and it seems as if I've dived into a sort of infinitudeof beautiful...

The older boy was pinned to the ground and -as the Rangers call it-"taken for a swim...

Brennan Jr. Black and Warren are Baptists; Clark, Harlan and Douglas are Presbyterians (Douglas is a minister's son; Clark served for years as a church elder). Brennan is the court's only Roman Catholic. Justices Felix Frankfurter and Byron R. White took no part in the decision. White and Dissenter Stewart are Episcopalians, and Frankfurter is a Jew by origin, but answers "no comment" when asked about his religious affiliation...
...Eldon Elder has modified the stage somewhat, and designed the sets. The floor is unraked this year, with a cyclorama behind. A pair of staircases and platforms can be rolled on and off. And there is, at the proscenium, a tripartite portcullis that can be raised and lowered as a whole or in sections, and, when wanted, an opaque curtain just behind it to allow changes of set in back while scenes are played on the extended apron in front. Elder has also fashioned a series of suitable Gothic arches; and, in the garden scenes, even the flower trellises culminate...
